Amb. Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) Gaudence Salim Milanzi, is a distinguished leader with over 40 years of dedicated service in Military Leadership, Strategic Defence Planning, Peacekeeping and Diplomatic roles. His extensive experience encompasses various leadership positions in the Tanzanian military, regional peacekeeping initiatives and high-level Government roles.
Amb. Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) Milanzi commenced his career with the Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF) in 1977, where he demonstrated exemplary leadership and advanced through the ranks to the esteemed position of Major General. Upon his retirement from active military service, he transitioned into public sector, serving as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.
Amb. Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) Milanzi holds a Masters degree in Security and Strategic Studies from the Bangladesh University of Professionals (2012), Post Graduate Diploma in Law majoring in International Law from the University of Dar es Salaam (1989) and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Public Administration from the University of Dar es Salaam (1988).
His contribution to conflict prevention, peace-building and civil-military cooperation is widely respected by organizations such as the United Nations, African Union and regional bodies across Africa such as SADC. With his profound insights and strategic leadership, he is well-positioned to guide the organization towards digital transformation to sustainable growth and lasting impact.
