Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Hon. Jerry Silaa, has said that the Sixth Phase Government is committed to ensuring that essential services including Postal, Communications, Internet, and digital financial services reach all citizens regardless of geography.

Minister Silaa made these remarks in Dar es Salaam, on August 22, 2025, during the handover ceremony of modern ICT equipment from the Universal Communications Service Access Fund (UCSAF) to the Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC).

Speaking at the event, the UCSAF Chief Executive Officer emphasized that this handover is part of a strategy to strengthen communication and digital services, especially in remote areas, in order to enhance speed, efficiency, and innovation in postal services, and to position TPC as a bridge for e-commerce for all Tanzanians.

For his part, the Postmaster General, Mr. Macrice Daniel Mbodo, expressed gratitude to UCSAF for the strong cooperation and stressed that the equipment will be immediately distributed to all Post regions across the country so that citizens can begin to benefit.

He added that this move will improve service speed, increase transparency, and simplify access to postal services through modern systems.

The equipment handed over includes 30 Desktop Computers (All-in-One), 30 UPS, 7 Laptop Computers, 50 Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), 5 Heavy-Duty Photocopy Machines, and network repair materials (LAN materials).
