E POSTAL BOARD SHOULD MANAGE THE TANZANIA POSTS CORPORATION TO BECOME A HUB OF eBUSINESS

Deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Information Technology, Hon. Engineer Kundo Mathew has asked the elected Board of the Tanzania Postal Corporation to achieve the Government's strategic plan to make the Corporation the center of Internet Business for the East African region and the Southern African Community (SADC).

He issued the order on January 13, 2023 when he was inaugurating the Board of Directors of the Tanzania Post Agency on behalf of the Minister of the Ministry Hon. Nape Nnauye in the meeting hall of Mackdon village hotel, Dodoma city.

Speaking during the opening, Engineer Kundo asked the Board to ensure that all postal services and businesses are provided to citizens through the Kiganjani Post system that enables citizens to access all postal services through any IT device. The goal is to make it easier for citizens to access postal services wherever they are, especially A system of their residential addresses that will enable them to be reached to where they are

In addition, the Deputy Minister has urged the Board to ensure that within their period of leadership they fully implement the Government's strategies set within the Organization, including the establishment of one stop centers through Post Offices across the country to facilitate access to Government services for citizens.

In another step, Engineer Kundo added that the Post Office is one of the Public Institutions given the responsibility of providing services to the citizens, so he wants it to increase the speed in expanding the use of Information and Communication Technology for those users.

On his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tanzania Postal Corporation, retired Brigadier General Yohana Ocholla Mabongo, has promised to work on all the duties assigned to them by the Government for the benefit of the Corporation and the Nation as a whole.

And the Postmaster General of the Tanzania Post Office, Macrice Mbodo, has used the opportunity to thank the Guest of Honor for being able to come and launch the Board of the Organization and promised to fully cooperate with it for the wider interests of the Organization.
