POST OFFICE TO CHANGE AFRICA TO DIGITAL

Minister of Information, Communication and Information Technology Hon. Nape Nnauye has explained how Tanzania has faith in the Tanzania Post Agency through the services it provides in collaboration with other postal organizations in Africa that will enable Africa to become digital as intended in the African Union (AU) Declaration for (2020-2030).
 
He explained this when he was concluding the 43rd Anniversary of the African Postal Union held nationally today on January 18, 2023, at the PSSSF meeting hall, in Dodoma.
 
Speaking during the celebration, Hon. Nape said, the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania through the Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology will ensure that the Postal services in the country are increasingly improved and grow to match the technological revolution in the world in order to facilitate access to Postal services to reach all citizens in Africa.
 
In another step, Hon. Nape added that the Government of Tanzania under the leadership of Hon. President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan will continue to increase efforts in completing the construction of the Union Headquarters (PAPU) building in Arusha, where the building will be completed and put into use will increase the efficiency of the Union in providing services and will also generate more jobs for Tanzanians.  
 
And the Deputy Secretary General Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology Mr. Mohammed Khamis Abdullah, on behalf of the Secretary General of the Ministry, has congratulated the African Postal Union (PAPU) for continuing to support the progress of the Postal Industry in Africa, especially in online services, with the aim of simplifying Postal services for citizens.
 
On his part, the Executive Secretary of the African Post Union, Dr. Sifundo Chief Moyo has congratulated the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania under the Ministry of Information, Communications and Information Technology for creating an enabling environment, especially the installation of the Mundombinu Residential Addresses and Postal Code that enables postal service providers to reach citizens wherever they are more easily.
 
And the Director General of the Tanzania Communications Authority (TCRA) Dr. Jabir Bakari has explained that considering the importance of the Postal Industry in the country, especially in the development of technology currently going on in the world that encourages the presence of online services that facilitate access to services for citizens, TCRA is ready to fully participate in the resolution of any challenges that will arise in enabling online services, especially at the borders of our country
 
In addition, Dodoma Regional Post Manager Mr. Ferdinand Kabyemela on behalf of the Postmaster General has explained that the Post Office will continue to be a smart facilitator of all cross-border and online (e-commerce) and non-online businesses as the infrastructure is there, the capacity and skills are there, there is also a strong desire to facilitate business services cross-border and non-cross-border networks.
