TPC RECEIVES AWARD

Public transportation officials are required to manage government assets to enhance efficiency, performance, and the maintenance of public property." These remarks were made on September 29, 2023, by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport in Zanzibar, Mr. Shomar Omar Shomar, during the opening of a stakeholder meeting for users of the Tanzania Electrical and Mechanical Services Agency (TEMESA). The meeting, held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Zanzibar, primarily targeted transportation officials who are responsible for overseeing all government vehicles in their respective institutions.
The deputy Permanent Secretary urged transportation officials to take the lead in ensuring proper management of transportation and technical services. "Currently, the government is in the process of developing guidelines for the proper use of government vehicles. Therefore, every Permanent Secretary and Chief Executive Officer has a responsibility to ensure the proper management of all vehicles under their respective institutions," said the Deputy Permanent Secretary, who also addressed the issue of work tools, which is a national program related to transportation, especially vehicle maintenance and repair. As a significant stakeholder in transportation in the country, the Postal Corporation had the opportunity to participate in the two-day training event and received an award in recognition of their significant contribution as a major stakeholder in TEMESA's operations. The award was received by the Postal Transportation Officer for Dar es Salaam Region, Mr. Bakari Abdallah."
