TANZANIA POST INTERNATIONALLY
The Postmaster General of the Tanzania Posts Corporation, Mr. Maharage Chande, has engaged in discussions to collaborate in business with major postal organizations worldwide to ensure that items (letters, parcels, and cargo) sent from these countries to Tanzania pass through the Tanzania Posts Corporation.
This has been revealed following Mr. Maharage's direct discussions with the postal services of the United States, China, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates (UAE-Dubai), and Oman during the sessions of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Council of Administration which took place from April 29 to May 3, 2024, in Berne, Switzerland, where the headquarters of the UPU are located.
In addition to these sessions, the Postmaster General has also held discussions with major companies involved in e-commerce, including the China Express Association headquartered in Beijing, SF Express headquartered in Shenzhen, China, and CAINIAO in Beijing, China.
These sessions have received significant responses from those nations and companies, which have praised the reforms being undertaken by the Tanzanian Postal Service under the slogan "Posta Delivers Better." They were held alongside the sessions of the UPU Administrative Council currently taking place in Berne, Switzerland.
Postmaster General Mr. Maharage Chande is in Switzerland to participate in the sessions of the UPU Council of Administration accompanied by Mr. Mulembwa Munaku, Director of Communications, Ministry of Information, Communications, and Information Technology.
Others accompanying the Postmaster General in these discussions include Mr. Constantine Kasese, Director of E-commerce and Financial Services (Tanzania Postal Corporation), and Mr. Elia Madulesi, Relationship Manager (Tanzania Postal Corporation).
