The Postmaster General of the Tanzania Postal Corporation (TPC), Mr. Maharage Chande, held discussions with the Director-General of the National Identification Authority (NIDA), Engineer Ismail Rumatila, on May 10, 2024, at the National Identification Authority (NIDA) offices in Dar es Salaam.

The discussions aimed to enhance cooperation in implementing the Integrated Services project, ensuring that government services are brought closer to citizens through the NIDA systems. These discussions were a continuation of the previously established Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TPC and NIDA.

The implementation of this Integrated Services project began with a "one roof" system but is now progressing towards implementing a single window system, where the recipient's information (such as fingerprints, photos, etc.) will be stored in a portal and sent to relevant institutions' officials for processing and returned upon completion to reach the customer.

Mr. Maharage emphasized that the implementation of this initiative entails changes in business processes and urged for the quick delivery of quality services.

The discussions also touched on cooperation in distributing national identification cards, which have not reached the intended recipients through NIDA. POSTA is ready to distribute these IDs.

Furthermore, Mr. Maharage outlined how postal services have been improved, stating that POSTA is prepared to transport containers, large cargo, packages, and letters domestically and internationally.

Mr. Maharage added that POSTA has obtained a clearing and forwarding license, thus collaborating with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) on customs matters, ensuring that received cargo undergoes clearance and reaches its destination without the need for customers to visit POSTA for customs procedures.

On his part, the Director-General of NIDA accepted and endorsed the cooperation, directing his experts to meet immediately with TPC's experts to align operational systems to facilitate the agreement's implementation.

Mr. Maharage Chande, the Postmaster General, was accompanied by Ms. Aicha Nangawe, the Head of Government Services Unit at TPC.
